Dr. Lisa Cooper-Lucas is a corporate trainer, consultant, educator, and mental health practitioner licensed in Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia. Dr. Lisa has over 25 years of experience providing behavioral health care, developing, and administering clinical operations, and managing behavioral health and medical personnel in a variety of settings which include; Johns Hopkins University & Hospital, Magellan Behavioral Health, and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). Dr. Lisa holds certifications as a Trauma informed therapist, a Certified Employee Assistance Professional, Master Addiction Counselor, and a Department of Transportation (DOT) Qualified Substance Abuse Professional.
Dr. Lisa is also a Trauma Informed Mental Health First Aide responder to local and national disasters. Recognized as a highly skilled and trained trauma clinician Dr. Lisa was recruited following the attacks of 9/11 by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) to provide care to employees and their families impacted by the catastrophic events of that day.
In addition to her clinical mental health expertise, Dr. Lisa has experience in the integration of medical and clinical interventions that address comorbid behavioral diagnosis of depression and anxiety with medical diagnoses of; diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, hypertension, substance use disorders and other medical conditions. Dr. Lisa is proficient in providing executive, management and supervisory level consultation and operational guidance for commercial and public safety personnel; and recently developed the foundational programing and clinical expertise for Arlington (VA) County Government public safety (Police, Sherriff, Fire and Emergency Call Center personnel) as the Public Safety Wellness Coordinator. Currently, Dr. Lisa has been recruited to support the military and civilian employees of the National Security Agency (NSA).
